Bathroom Redo

There really isn't much room for us to do a whole lot of "new" things to our itty bitty bathroom but we updated a couple of things.

Painted old vanity black and added new fronts to the drawers and cabinets.

New shower curtain and SOFT towels (wedding gifts!)

Found a clearanced over the pot cabinet etagere for first aid and neccessities. (Thank you target!)

We ripped out (after a failed attempt to paint it) the tiny black medicine cabinet. Who really needs one when you have an over the pot cabinet etagere?!? We swiped the mirror from the guest bathroom (which was replaced with a new one... verdict is still out on that one) and stuck it in our bathroom. It matches my West Elm mercury glass pieces.

Some would say it needs a splash of color. But who are we kidding? We painted the walls gray (imagine that) and added black, white, silve, and gray accessories. AND WE LOVE IT! Who needs color when you've got mercury glass on your side!

Puffy Pillows

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I really need to learn how to make something else other than pillows. I just keep finding areas that really need a new pillow!

Added buttons to this gray one for the bedroom:

But I think I like it on the chair better. SOO I guess I will just have to make more pillows for the bed. :)

Just a couple more prints to be framed and our master bedroom/bathroom "redo" is just about finished! (Pictures coming soon...)

I know about a MILLION people who are having babies in the next couple months so DIY babshower gifts are next on my list.

And how cute is this guy??

this is SEW easy

I found some cute polka dot fabric on clearance at Hancock Fabrics. The yard of fabric only cost me $2.50!! And with that kind of deal (along with my LIMITED sewing abilities) I decided to check off another "easy" pin from my sewing board on Pinterest.

Seriously, this is "sew" easy. I'm almost embarrassed that I actually took step-by-step pictures.

Pay attention:
1. Pin.

2. Sew.

3. Turn right side out.

4. Voila!
SewFarSewGoodFillmann price: $2.50

Comparable Eternity Scarf:
Urban Outfitters Price: $29

I'll take it!

Done and Done

I'm trying to work through my list of "easy" pins on Pinterest. Here's today's project.
Knotted Headband with T-Shirt Yarn

And then I went t-shirt headband crazy:

Cut, braid, and sew ends together with a little extra material like so:

Oh the things you can do with old t-shirts.

Next up:

I'm stealing this idea from my oober-crafty sister @blissfullykruse  but I'll give credit where credit is due: here is her tutorial!

I DID IT!

It only took me 2 weeks to get my sewing machine in shape to do some work but today I actually MADE something. After finding out that the bobbin winder was broken my mom came to the rescue. She hooked up an old sewing machine to wind the bobbin for the NEW-ish machine. Ugh. What a process.

Check out my first project. (step-by-step directions here)

Now what??
